Hi, I work at a tech company, and I do almost nothing at work. I'm supposed to be making cold calls to previous clients to convince them to buy our products. But, after a month of getting chewed out by angry customers and hearing complaints about how shitty our products are, I gave that up. Then, I was moved to the support center, where other people who are way smarter than me manage to do my work. I spend an hour a day, two at the most, doing actual work.
Yet, I somehow haven't been fired. My bosses think I'm a good worker, and I've managed to convince (read: bullshit) them into thinking that I actually do work here, when I spend most of the day surfing the web. My coworkers all know I am lazy, and it's somewhat of a common joke in the office.
So why am I such a shitty employee? And why, with the harsh economic times we're in, have I not been canned in the name of frugality? Beats me. It's not that I'm lazy or stupid. I clearly don't give a shit if/when I get fired. However, I like seeing how much I can get away with doing jack shit at work. And I'm starting this blog to give me something to do. Who knows...I might get a promotion for it.
